Whatever the true cause of eczema is, genetic or otherwise, it currently remains unsolved,whether this is the reason or some outside influence, remains a mystery. The condition is quite easy to recognize as a sufferer will have a dry red rash that is constantly itchy. In serious cases the skin becomes blistered with scabs forming around the affected area.
The most common type is known generally as atopic eczema,like all the other types, this one is characterized by itching as well. A sufferer of atopic eczema will often find short term relief by scratching the affected areas but this aggravates the condition and damages the skin. Another problem caused by the condition is it makes the skin more sensitive to almost any substance,sufferers usually have reactions to washing detergents, soaps and even makeup.

The red skin is often an indication of increased blood in the area of the rash which may be the result of the sufferer scratching themselves. In cases of eczema, the process of the skin inflammation is a very complex one and can be triggered by many different factors,it can also flare up if your skin gets infected by a bacteria. Sufferers also exhibit blisters quite frequently which are normally quite small although bigger blisters are sometimes visible,this may be the result of the person’s skin type or from an infection. Every sufferer is warned about blisters as they can be damaged by scratching or carelessness and while some are filled with fluid, others have a pus like substance,further infection is almost assured if the blisters are damaged, this is why scratching can just aggravate an already sensitive condition.
